  1. Graphic Workshop for Windows 1.1

  5. To install Graphic Workshop for Windows on your hard drive:
  6.  
  7.     1. If you have received Graphic Workshop in an archive, such as 
  8.        a ZIP file, place the contents of the archive on a high density  
  9.        floppy disk. If you have received Graphic Workshop on a floppy 
  10.        floppy directly from Alchemy Mindworks, this has already been 
  11.        done for you. Do not attempt to install Graphic Workshop from
  12.        your hard drive to your hard drive.
  13.     2. Place the disk in a floppy drive of your computer.
  14.     3. Open the File menu of the Windows program manager and select Run.
  15.        Do not attempt to run SETUP from File Manager, Norton Commander or
  16.        other alternate shells.
  17.     4. In the Run dialog box, type A:SETUP or B:SETUP, as is appropriate.
  18.     5. Follow the installer instructions... the Setup application will 
  19.        prompt you as required.

  27. Graphic Workshop for Windows requires Windows 3.1 or better. A minimum of four
  28. megabytes of memory is required, with at least eight recommended. Note that if
  29. you have four megabytes in your system, but a large part of it is tied up in 
  30. a RAM disk, a disk cache, as EMS or in some other form which Windows cannot 
  31. address it, Graphic Workshop may be unable to run.

  35. NOTES FOR THIS RELEASE

  37. We've changed the default "no thumbnail" icon. If you don't like it, you can
  38. use one of your own design. See GWS Documentation for more about this.

  40. Internet users will want to check out the internal UUE decoder in Graphic
  41. Workshop for Windows. Also check out our World Wide Web site at

  44. To avoid having your lungs ripped out by our leather winged demon of the night,
  45. please be sure to consult the section of GWS Documentation concerning CDR 
  46. preview images. Most medical insurance will not cover demon attacks.

  48. This version of Graphic Workshop requires Video for Windows 1.1 or better for 
  49. its AVI file functions. Version 1.0 will not work. See the end of GWS.WRI for
  50. the complete revision history and list of bug fixes.

  52. Conversion between animation formats has been enabled for FLI/FLC to AVI, but not 
  53. AVI to FLC. The FLI/FLC write function wasn't sufficiently stable when this version
  54. was released.

  56. The DeskJet 500C-series printer bug seems to be fixed. Let us know if you still
  57. have problems with this printer.

  59. Some users have reported problems with installing Graphic Workshop on systems with
  60. relatively little memory. The SETUP program may be unable to uncompress some of 
  61. the files on the distribution disk. If this happens to you, get to the DOS prompt 
  62. and do the following.
